Out of 168 nations examined, 163 featured national maternity leave. Besides the U.S. and Australia, the only other countries that didn't provide standardized paid leave were Lesotho, Papua New Guinea and Swaziland. The study found 84 countries guarantee at least 14 weeks paid leave and 17 guarantee 20 weeks.

9 months paid maternity leave for mothers and 3 for fathers in Iceland.

yay for Canada! I thought for sure Iceland would beat us, but 1 year for monthers and about 9 1/2 months for fathers.

you're a monther when you're not pregnant. and yes, once a month it is alot like a monster.

even if you adopt you still get 45 weeks i think, too bad i wasnt working at the time of our last adoption. umm liz, you are not a monster.
