for the love of graphic novels

I just read Clumsy tonight. It's by Jeffrey Brown. It's really cute and entertaining, and it only took about an hour to read. Aaah...the graphic novel. So satisfying, in so little time. It's like a cross between a movie and a book. It's not as lazy as a movie and you still get to use your imagination. Jeffrey Brown's site: www.theholyconsumption.com

I´m gonna look for Clumsy at work, I love graphic novels but I have not been reading enough of them lately. Which is strange since I have a store full of graphic novels to choose from. I read Persepolis again last night it is so awsome I have to say it is one of my favorite books, I think, so many books...

thanks for sharing a new genre with me

you should start with Marjane Satrapi (Persepolis)

...and then you should read the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman.

I have yet to read the Sandman series. Neil Gaiman's art is amazing.

here are some "comics" that will change your life: maus by art speigelman (about the holocasut), barefoot gen by Keiji Nakazawa (about hiroshima), joe sacco has written several good ones: palestine, safe area gorazde, the fixer.
honorable mentions: louis riel by chester brown and bannock and beans by seth.

actually...i guess it's not Neil Gaiman's art that is amazing, it's the people who do the art for some of his writing that are. yeah, i'm thinking of Dave McKean.
